I love to sew. Sometimes I'm hell bent on getting everything perfect, and other times, I just want to churn it out quick. Today was a "quick" day, and that's OK. Not everything, not every day, needs to be perfect.
Today was about quick and easy solutions. And what problem can't be solved by sewing? Well, a lot of them, I'm sure, but a jumbo wire dog crate in the living room is one that sewing can solve. It hides the ugly and contains the dirt.
Not perfect. Not totally tailored. Not ironed.... but it's done. It does the job and it adds color and fun to the room.
With the left over dog crate fabric and some super fun lime and navy fabric I picked up, I recovered the sofa cushions. Some of the old cushions were made by me over 15 years ago. Time for a change. They were sad and didn't match our current style or furnishings. And, then there are the 2 standard cushions that came with our new sofa. I hated them. Easy-peasy fix. New covers.
Is this the "proper" way to sew a pillow cover? No. Is is perfect? No. Would my mother cringe if she saw the finishing? Yes. But it's all good. 5 pillows took about an hour. Awesome.
Now, to address the bare white walls in our house...
