I'll admit, I'm an all or nothing girl. When I became pregnant with kiddo no 1, I told my then-boyfriend, it's all or nothing. Nine years (and 3 kids and 3 states) later, and we've been in our new-to-us-fixer-house for 2 years, and I need to fence off the front corner of the backyard to keep the dogs from harassing our lovely neighbors... a garden is born.
It's all or nothing.
The fence is rustic and lovely, with a touch of industrial. I made it, what else would you expect? And built raised beds to match. 5 raised beds. And more are planned and pots and planters, and I planted EVERYTHING... or at least everything that will grow in the heat of the South.
I have a combat plan for the bugs (all natural) and it's working and I picked up some AMAZING compost from Bricko Farms. Someday, I'll save up enough to buy the double barrel compost tumbler from Costco, but for now, Bricko is the best!
We've already had fresh tomatoes and blueberries, and peppers, and I see the start of some lovely cucumbers too.
All the hard work, all the grubby hands and sweat. It's so worth it. And I want more. And more... and more.
A work in progress
