Soccer snacks... Ask any kid - it's a BIG deal. It's an even bigger deal if you're assigned the final tournament for snacks. Some parents go all out. Some bring pizza, some bring happy meals... some bring cupcakes or goodie bags. We're cupcakes AND a goodie bag kind of people.
Our kids were assigned the tournament. YEAH!!
It's even a bigger deal since our kids weren't able to eat the snacks provided by the other parents throughout the season. The coach asked and we told the whole team that our girls were vegan and will not eat dairy, eggs, etc. I guess the other moms don't know cheese is dairy? So, aside from the odd bag of potato chips and the chemical food coloring drink concoction, our girls went without.
This is our time to shine! It's our turn!! And it's the tournament!!! We were excited.
But a few days ago, the Coach's wife sent out a group text, announcing that she was would bring the tournament snacks. Ummm..... no. I spoke up and texted right back to the group that WE were assigned the tournament and we WOULD be bringing the snack (and yes, the Coach's wife was the one that assigned us the tournament in the first place). Her reply? "Fine." Nice.
I just finished making VEGAN Chocolate Zucchini Cupcakes and they'll get homemade vegan cream cheese frosting. The kids will all get organic juice pouches and a gift bag with vegan & organic treats too.
TAKE THAT, Coach's wife and all the other parents that assumed that cheese isn't dairy!! Your kids will get awesome healthy snacks and my kids will FINALLY have a soccer snack they can enjoy.
A work in progress
